Is FireWire technology going the way of the Dodo bird? That’s what some are saying now and it may be true.

I often thought “if FireWire is supposed to be so much better than USB 2.0 then why isn’t it totally replacing it”?

Well it seems that the USB technology is the one that will be moving forward and not FireWire. Get ready for USB 3.0 because that’s what the manufacturers are going to release next and it should be soon.

Of course if USB 3.0 comes out tomorrow and everybody ditches FireWire don’t worry about it if you still have your “old” FireWire audio interface, you can use it for as long as you want.
