Audio Recording Software
If you've already decided on using your computer as the heart of your home recording studio you need an audio recording program that'll turn your computer into a recording powerhouse. If you're using a PC you can check for computer compatibility because there are certain components in your computer that may or may not qualify to successfully run some of these multitrack music recording software programs.
Software that recording studios use
These are the ones that most pro and home studios use for a reason… they work well. Over the years music recording software has become more stable with more bells and whistles but it only has one purpose… to record your music. All these different programs will do that and do it well, like I said, they're the most used ones out there.
They all work and look very similar to each other. If you were to learn how to use one and then a few months later decided to get a different one, the learning curve would be very small. It's like driving a Ford and a BMW, they'll both get you there.
That said, all these different programs have a lower end starting package and go up to a more high end one. You can get a decent recording software program for around $100, but then you'll need a piece of hardware as your interface as well.
